Tata Indica V2 DLS BSIII
This is the entry level variant and it is equipped with a DOHC based 1.4-litre diesel power plant that comes with a displacement capacity of 1405cc. It has 4-cylinders and 16-valves that allows it to produce a peak power of 48.2Bhp at 5000rpm, while yielding a peak torque output of 85Nm at 2500rpm. It is coupled with an F-Type 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that delivers the torque to the front wheels. The manufacturer has equipped this variant with numerous features like power steering system, air conditioning unit, front power outlets, fixed lumbar support for front seats, 2-way adjustable front seat headrests and a parcel shelf. It also has partial fabric seats, silver tipped gear knob, front cabin lights with spot lamps, tachometer, body colored bumpers, driver?s side external mirror, 7-speed intermittent wiper and washer and motorized clear lens headlamps. Tata Indica eV2 eLS
The manufacturer has equipped this variant with an advanced and more powerful 1.4-litre diesel engine with common rail fuel injection system and it complies with Bharat Stage IV emission compliance. It is incorporated with 4-cylinders and 16-valves that produces a displacement capacity of 1396cc. This engine has the ability to produce 69Bhp at 4000rpm, while generating a maximum torque of about 140Nm at 1800 to 3000rpm. The torque output is sent to the front wheels through an advanced five speed, F-Type manual transmission gearbox, which helps in returning a mileage of 25 Kmpl. Besides this, this eV2 eLS trim comes with the same features that are already available in the V2 DLS BSIII variant.
Tata Indica V2 DLX BSIII
The car maker is offering this variant with all the aspects that are already given to the V2 DLS BSIII variant. In addition to those, it comes with features like AC unit with heater, all four power windows, 60:40 rear split seats, silver metallic central console, storage/magazine pockets with bottle holders, rear chrome garnish, electrically operated external mirrors, body colored outside door handles, key less entry function, central locking with remote, front and rear fog lamps, and an engine immobilizer. In addition to these, it is also incorporated with a car infotainment system featuring an advanced multi-functional music system with MP3/CD players, Radio, 2-speakers, Bluetooth, USB, AUX-In connectivity, digital clock and IR remote control for audio.
Tata Indica eV2 eLX
This variant comes with the same comfort and safety features that are equipped in the V2 DLX BSIII variant. On the other hand, it is powered by a sophisticated 1.4-litre CRDi diesel engine, which is also powering the eV2 eLS trim.
CNG Models
Tata Indica V2 Emax CNG GLS
This variant is powered by a bi-fuel, 1.2-litre engine with a multi-point fuel injection system, which generates a displacement capacity of 1193cc. Under the petrol mode, it can produce 64.1Bhp at 5000rpm, while yielding a peak torque of 100Nm at 2700rpm. When switched to the CNG mode, it can generate 55.23Bhp at 5200rpm and develops a maximum torque of 90Nm at just 2650rpm. This engine is mated with an advanced 5-speed, F-type manual transmission gearbox. This base trim comes equipped with all the features that are standard in the diesel LS variant.
Tata Indica V2 Emax CNG GLX
This variant comes with all the comfort and safety features that prevalent in the GLS trim. In addition to those, it also has an AC unit with heater, all four power windows, storage/magazine pockets with bottle holders, interior lights with theater dimming, electrically operated outside mirrors, digital clock, ORVMs with side blinkers, central locking with key less entry, front and rear fog lamps, engine immobilizer, day and night inside rear view mirror along with front and rear fog lamps. Additionally, the car maker has also incorporated the car infotainment system featuring an MP3/CD player along with Radio player, 2-speakers, USB, AUX-In and Bluetooth connectivity.

Ed's Take: The Indica eV2 is one of the most fuel-efficient hatchbacks and the company had even run a campaign on 25kmpl. The hatchback is fuel-efficient and that has always been one of the USPs of the Indica. Now, it even comes with CNG option.
Tata Indica V2 old is available with four variants and all its four variants are equipped with a 1396cc diesel engine with 475 IDI with new Microprocessor based Engine Management System (ECU) technology that offers high engine performance with good fuel efficiency. This diesel engine offers mileage of around 13.6kmpl in city while on the highway it gives 17.2kmpl . The new BS IV compliant powerplant is configured with 1405cc, 4 cylinders that delivers max power of 71 ps at 4500 rpm and develops a top torque of 135 Nm at 2500 rpm. According to the company, the new engine is more powerful and fuel efficient. The engine gives the highest mileage of 19 kmpl on highways and 14.5 kmpl in city limits.

Ed's Take: The 1.4-litre engine on the Indica eV2 is good, and the 1.2-litre Xeta has decent performance. The diesel is definitely the pick of the lot, as it isn’t just quick but also fuel-efficient.

Ed's Take : The power produced by the Indica CR4 engine is good not just on paper but even in the real world. We even like the CNG engine’s power.

Accelration:
Ed's Take : The acceleration of the eV2 is good enough and definitely it is one of the quickest diesel hatchbacks in its segment. The acceleration of the CNG is good too.
The new Tata Indica V2 Turbomax is available for sale alongside old Tata Indica V2 that is powered with 1396cc engine which produces a top power of 53.5 Ps at 5500 rpm and churns a top torque of 85 Nm at 2500 rpm. The 1.4L, 1405cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine of Tata Indica V2 Turbomax belts out a max power of 71 Ps at 4500 rpm and generates highest torque of 135 Nm at 2500 rpm. With five speed manual gearbox, it delivers good engine performance but the acceleration of this car may disappoint you as its pick up is much lower than other cars of this segment. The 1.4L power-plant of Tata Indica V2 crosses the 100kmph mark in 22.4 seconds and touches the top speed of 137kmph.

The old Tata Indica is equipped with 13 inch wheel and radial tyres while the new Tata Indica Turbomax is packed with 14 inch steel wheels which are fully covered by puncture resistant radial tyres that offer great off-roading capability. The tyre size of Tata Indica Turbomax is 165/65 R14 while old one has 165/65 R13.
Braking & Handling
Ed's Take: The handling characteristics of the Indica eV2 are good, the steering wheel does feel a bit vague and there is some amount of body roll. But that’s about it.
Tata Indica is packed with Dual Circuit, Diagonal Split Hydraulic Brakes through Tandem Master Cylinder brakes that decelerate this car quickly. Its front wheels are equipped with ventilated disc brakes while its rear wheels are packed with drum brakes.

Ed's Take: The eV2’s top of the line version now comes with ABS. Airbags are still missing.
